Gulf States, Turkey agree to establish strategic dialogue

 

Jeddah – Ramadan 03 1429/ September 03, 2008 – Six member states of Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) and Turkey signed here yesterday a memorandum of understanding for the establishment of strategic dialogue between the two sides. The memorandum was signed by Sheikh Hamad bin Jassem bin Jabr Al Thani, Qatar’s Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs whose country chairs the current session of the Council, Turkish Foreign Minister Ali Babacan and the GCC Secretary General Abdulrahman Al Atiyyah.
The GCC foreign ministers held here yesterday a meeting with the Turkish foreign minister. For his part, the Turkish Foreign Minister commended historical relations between his country and the GCC states.
