Riyadh – Shaaban 26 1429/ August 27, 2008 – Saudi Arabia’s Supreme Judicial Council urged all Muslims in the Kingdom to sight the Crescent of the holy month of Ramadan on Saturday evening Sha’ban 29 and Sunday evening Sha’ban 30 in accordance with the Ummul Qura Calendar.
In a statement issued today, the Council said that whomsoever sight the Crescent of the Month of Ramadan must report to the nearest Court and register his testimony there.
“In case of non-availability of a judge in the town where the crescent was sighted, the witness must report to the nearest governorate of other region in order to facilitate the official there to access to the nearest court,” the Council added.
